It has been a while since I have posted here – but only because the dozen post drafts lying on my desktop have been fighting for attention at the same time – and have created a deadlock.
A lot needs to be said, but before I resume writing, here are 17000 words (in picture format) taken today near my current residence in Abbottabad.
Yesterday’s tragic killing of seven protesters by (our own?) police and the empty streets and the closed bazaar that were so peaceful only a few days ago is something that I was totally unprepared for when I left the pollution and FUD of Lahore for the serene and safe small-town life of Abbottabad last year.
The images are (in no particular order) of the Cantt bazaar, the burnt Cantt police station (which had a beautiful antique wooden door), a burnt police vehicle, empty market, vandalized ATM with a blood-splattered cloth protecting it, and the junction of Liaquat Road, Jinnah Road and Allama Iqbal Road – oh, the irony!
Majority of ANP office bearers are busy in coloring their hate and discrimination towards other non pashtoons in a sophisticated way by dirty politics of blackmailing and hiding the truth. They not only defame the legacy of Bacha khan and show their greedy ambitions towards others right.
On other hand Hazara Province movement arise after realizing ANP agenda of hate, discrimnation, considering themself superior and depriving other on linguistic basis. They realy pushed more then half non Phuston papulation of Province to wall by taking their identity.
The Hazara movement is led by Sardar Haider Zaman who was EX minister and EX District Nazim posses extra ordinary qualities of loving with poors, standing for other right and straight forward with out political intrests. In his governance tenor he refused to get any salary and other perk & perviligies from government account. Here is fight between believe, faith and hate, discrimination. Let see who will win the dividing ruling class or the belief of saint with other political wolfs.
Thanks for sharing these pics.
Seeing this kind of thing saddens me deeply. I live in a place where this kind of thing does not happen and I want you to know, from my heart, I am truely sad. People who think they are superior are the scorge and decrement of society as a whole. May your God bless and watch over you and keep you safe!! I will keep this blog on my reading list and hope always for your safety. Thank you for the post.
Greetings from Puerto Rico. I was one of many that kept on with you the day of the Bin Laden operation.
