Olá. Sou do Brasil.
Hello Sohaib,
We are fascinated by your encounter with destiny and the raid by US Commandos last week. From time to time our non-profit humanitarian web site which is for our High School Alumni from Jamaica that are all around the globe in over 50 countries, does small ‘internet radio’ programming with live music and some pre-recorded interviews. Would you be able to do one by Skype (I am paracletus, gfr) to share more importantly who you are and the situations that led up to you being the witness to such a watershed event? Thank You.
Our web site is best viewed in Firefox, Chrome or Safari (We have no idea why.. maaybe you can, as a savvy technologist tell us why?)
Ok, I’ll bite….The Topic Above is for us to respond to You. So, here’s the dullness of it all… I joined the Army in ’84, because I couldn’t speak the language! I am from Miami… which has now changed.. and if you don’t speak Spanish, you might not get the job! First place I went was Georgia, then Germany (gorgeous!), St Louis (dirty industrial city), Seoul Korea (kim-bop…Yum!), and lastly Kansas. Then I was in the Guard 7yrs & the Reserves 6yrs. I “retired” May2010, and while I miss it…I guess it was time. The hour drive to drill was getting old. “Retired” is in quotes because I am a “gray area retiree,” and will be until I reach 60yrs old, at which time I will become officially retired, & receive retiree pay.
I was “into” computers early on, I remember DOS, & Boot Disks, and 5.5 floppies. As an Army Accountant, I eventually used computers to do my job… And with that, inadvertently got my “on the floor” IT experience as the “go to” girl to call when printers & computers were acting up. I have taught a few classes on Windows & MS Office software. Currently, I work in the Accounting Office in a local organization.
I have been home after surgery, so I’ve had time for Facebook —- where I first saw your posts reported. Guess I was late to the party, because you were already at 10k followers, having gone from 500-1000 as you’ve mentioned in your FAQ.
SO.. with regard to Minute 16, I can truthfully say… Dude, good thing you are an IT Guy, & already had a website up & running! You already had an awesome method to answer all those crazy questions, and I for one…think you rock for remaining the same guy you were on 28April2011. I am now a follower, and the only other “Celebrity” I follow is Steve Martin because …umm.. hello! Funny guy. And I follow my cousin, and some lady in California, for some unknown reason, follows me.
I never thought much of twoopers :-), and was aggravated that my precious space on my MotoDroid#1 was being used for an app I wasn’t using! Then, I started using it after reading an article from a 2006 Reader’s Digest article (short explanation, too tired right now for)…
I have only been twooping (derogatory word I used to use because I was angry about space on phone) Yeesch! I have only been twooping since 19March, hence my funky login name which ends with 201103. Dull. See? Told ya!
Anyway … that’s my story… I’ll be watching as yours plays out.
Stay Safe, Louise.
As’salamu alaikum
I am an oldie in my 60’s from USA, who is somewhat addicted to Twitter, saw you that night and initially thought that may be someone is disoriented or just making up a fake story as you Tweeted about the choppers etc.
Later after a few hours I was able to relate to your story as the news broke.
Never knew you other than Twitter, but I found you to be a credible and well composed gentleman with a great disposition and command on language and was very pleased to see you speak to some of the journalists who interviewed you, Pakistan needs many more like you, I have hopes and inshaAllah it will happen.
I am a grandfather with 4 grandchildren but I miss my father who was an expert when it came to art of very engaging bedtime story telling I wish I was blessed with a fraction of that.
I wish you and your family all the best.
Sincerely
A. Zuberi
I left this comment on Conan O’Brien’s twitter feed in jest:

and thought to come here after seeing your twitter home page. You and I actually exchanged a note, many years ago – I hope you’re well!
Kind regards,
