… is what I am for the next few hours on twitter. I am too tired and sleepy to blog or talk about it though, but I guess it is finally time to revive this abandoned blog. Maybe tomorrow…

You’re really lucky!
this does not happen every day 🙂
Is it not an interesting thing to be, though!
Hi Sohaib,
My fiance and I came across your twitter feed like so many other curious and news hungry Americans did over the course of the last few days, we were so intrigued and found you so charming that we came here to your Blog, we’ve read about your life and experiences in Pakistan and like the many conversations Brian (my fiance) and I have had with friends over the course of the last 10 years, we have found so many commonalities between us, your post on Terrorism resonates with the beliefs of so many, its so sad and disheartening that its such an active part of your daily life. 🙁 Every child deserves the right to live in a peaceful country, especially their own homeland.
I’m glad the internet has brought so many together over the course of its existence, I hope you know that you have two friends here in America that will be here to chat in the 16th minute 😉
Best Wishes to you and your family!
LuLu and Brian
Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today … unless you can boast 100,000 followers (twits, twitterers, twitterettes, etc.) with 140 characters or less. Yes, why blog when you can get more mileage from twitter? I guess that was a rhetorical question. Stay safe, enjoy the cofee.
The Chinese have a curse: “May you live in interesting times”. I suspect we are ALL living in interesting times….
Dear Mr. Sohaib Athar.
I have read your message (congratulation for beeing an eyewitness)
“- Helicopter hovering above Abbottabad at 1 AM (is a rare event). – ”
and I am confused because of the date, twitter shows “1 Mai 2011” – as I got known, it was already May 2 – unfortunately I could not read any time oder date, generated by twitter, when your message was brought.
Would it be possible for you, to give me some kind of explanation?
Thanks ahead.
Sincerely, Karsten F. Kröncke, Freiburg (Black Forest), Germany
Why did you rat me out? I thought we were buddies lol

Sohaib— Gotta strike while the iron is hot! Hope your unintended but newly found fame brings you untold wealth:)
You should host a comedy show
By the way, loved your FAQ (https://reallyvirtual.com/faq/)! I think it has all the ingredients to go viral 😀
Dude – I can’t believe that all those people who tweeted their questions (rolling eyes) didn’t find the time to comment on your blog.
Are Google skills all THAT hard these days. I am ashamed at the laziness of my neighbors.
And the most interesting thing about the tweet live-blogging posted online at HuffPost? Man, your answers were a JOY to read. I was in tears reading some of them – but you always treated the questioners with respect.
Anyway, you’re being bombarded with “stuff” these days but I’ll return later when things are quiet. I hope we can chat a bit then.
You are an interesting person – not for what you witnessed (an accident of time and place) but for what I see in your responses to this event.
Salaam Ji. Khuda hafez.
Hope you are O.K. Came back after a few days to check if you started blogging again, since not a tweeter. Your blog provides a softer and a little saner image of us which hopefully represents the majority but sometimes not too sure. God help and protect us since it is now crystal clear that is the only entity that we may now rely upon, if there is one. Extremely disgusted at our state of affairs pre and post OBL and the fact that we will not get our heads out of the sand. Should not loose hope but do not see a very rosy picture of our country in the next 10/20 years. Perhaps our children may walk this land with their heads held high.
Is that photo on your face book of Binladen Real??
Hello,
I’m a brazilian journalist and I have just two questions, if you could answer: do you think that United States really killed Osama bin Laden? And the people that live in your city believe that Osama was killed and that he has lived in that compound?
Sorry, but my English isn’t very good
Hello;
I do want to subscribe your RSS.
thanks
Would you be willing to upload one or more of your pictures of the compound to Wikimedia / Creative Commons. We are really hurting for public domain pictures for Wikipedia. This one is especially good because it shows most of the compound without people’s faces: http://yfrog.com/z/h7myikvj
Setting aside who is was who was shot, I think of the little girl who witnessed her father’s end. Reports that I have read say she is only 10 years old.
You rock, man !
Or maybe not tomorrow then? 🙂 No worries, simple design is glorious! Congrats on the accidental fame.
Hi Sohaib,
Like so many others, I was captivated by your Twitter postings about what was happening in Abbottabad. Now, that a few days have passed, I realize that I’m still interested in what you have to say. Not because I think I’m going to find out some new juicy bit about OBL’s compound, or about the pak army, but because your tweets have given me a look at a part of the world that is far from my home and experiences here in the US.
Most of what I know about Pakistan comes from the little bits of history that I learned in school and what I see/read in the news. So, a limited picture with a particular national perspective (shaped by religion and politics). :-p
Anyway, thank you for putting a “human” face on your neighborhood, region and country. You may have inadvertently become the guy who helped “educate” the western world about Pakistan. 🙂
Regards,
Dan Tabata
